The true story of Reebok began in 1895 in English at Bolton as J.W. Foster began making shoes for runners. Almost 30 years later, he equipped the participating riders at the 1924 Summer Olympics. His two grandsons, Joe and Jeff, founded the Reebok brand in 1958.

The American entrepreneur Paul Fireman noticed the shoes of the small brand at a show in 1979 and acquired the distribution license in North America. The same year, he launched the Reebok sneakers, which were still at the time the most expensive pairs of the running shoes segment, in the United States.

Reebok was known around the world for his colorful shoes in the 1980s, when aerobics and fitness were in fashion. Even today, in addition to the Reebok Classic, the Reebok Freestyle aerobics shoe is one of the most famous models of the brand.

In the 1990s, Reebok caused a sensation with the PUMP system, a system able to inflate the inner tubes in different parts of the shoe so that the shoe is even better on the foot. The tennis star, Michael Chang, became a partner of Reebok and made the shoes with the PUMP system even more famous and sought after.

Reebok calmed down after the 1990s and after the first major boom in the sports shoe industry, but since the adidas brand took over in 2006, the brand has become a staple in the performance, streetwear and lifestyle. The latest innovative and performance-oriented running shoes are complemented by new versions and colors of old classics. These include, among others, the Reebok Classic, the InstaPump Fury and, as a last shot, a retro Reebok Rapide.
