The entrepreneurial success of the Dassler brothers dates back to 1924, when the "Dassler brothers Schuhfabrik" opened in Herzogenaurach in Franconia. Over the years, however, the differences between the two became so pronounced that they separated and Rudolf founded his own company, the "Puma Rudolf Dassler Schuhfabrik", on March 12, 1948. The same year, Puma brought on the market its first football boot, the "Puma Atom", with the same number of players as the German national team in the first match after the Second World War.

When the company launched its first "Super Atom" shoe in 1952, Puma paved the way for becoming one of the world's leading sports and football brands. In the following years, renowned international athletes celebrate their greatest successes in the skin of the brand, including football stars Eusebio and Pelé.

The "Formstreifen", known until now for Puma, which was on the side of the shoe and which was initially fixed as additional stabilization, was the trademark of the mark from 1958 to 1966. In 1967, however, the Nuremberg's cartoonist, Lutz Backes, designed a new brand, which has since become one of the most famous in the world: the jumping puma.

The brand was a great success in 1973 by equipping legend Walt basketball "Clyde" Frasier with the Puma Suede. With his nickname on the side of the shoe is like Puma Clyde a fashionable and popular sneaker. Puma will also equip other athletes over the years, including Boris Becker, Martina Navratilova, Johann Cruyff and, of course, Diego Maradona. The king of football, Lothar Matthaus, also wears the puma. He leads the German national football team of King Puma to victory at the World Cup in Italy and the same year "World Sportsman, World Player" and "European Footballer of the Year".

The 1990s are legendary for Puma in the field of sports shoes. Puma Cell, a hexagonal cell damping system, is under development. The Puma Trinomic series was born and, in 1991, the Puma Disc is the first sneaker without laces to be marketed.

Around the turn of the millennium, Puma is the first manufacturer of sportswear to collaborate with renowned designers such as Jil Sander and Alexander McQueen to design and develop new lifestyle models, the pop star Madonna wearing the Puma Mostro throughout of his tour in 2002.

Athletes like Linford Christie, Serena Williams and the living legend Usain Bolt are the driving force behind the new marketing strategies. Since the 2012/2013 season, Puma has teamed up with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and, with Rihanna, a superstar of the extra class has been named ambassador for the brand. Notably for this reason, Puma 2015 rubs shoulders with Adidas and Nike, one of the world's largest sportswear manufacturers, and is once again playing an important role in Bizz sneakers.
